Merry xmas

merry Xmas,loyal readers.My fears have been confirmed,I have a rubber chicken.I have named him bok-bok.
I also got the Tau codex,company of heroes opposing fronts,a book abut ww2 armoured vehicles and some films,namely a bridge too far,hot fuzz,the band of brothers and the pacific.Peace and goodwill to all men on this day.Have a very merry Xmas.

A Christmas maybe not wasted...

Y'know I said about this Christmas being wasted,I'm probably wrong.I have been seeing some DVD sized cardboard cases from play.com and Amazon.There is a scant possibility that those cases contained the new call of duty,company of heroes opposing fronts,bad company 2,a bridge too far,basically DVD stuff I have for!There is a god...

A stupid question

Today,my mum asked me why I have asked for 2 codexes for Christmas.I told her about the apocalypse allies matrix,and the gue'vesa rule for the tau.She nodded,with I suspect fake interest.What imbecile/philistine doesn't know about that!

2 new regiments

I have thought of some new regiments.The 74th Kalashnikovan jump regiment,and the 666th Helghast light infantry.The 74th has snowy camo,while the 666th has urban camo.

A Christmas wasted

Well,loyal followers,the end of the year is upon us.The chances of me having a good Christmas are shot.This was confirmed last night,when my parents were wrapping presents,and I saw a rubber chicken.Not 1,not 2,but a good 10 or so.So,2010 comes to and end.I am contemplating staying in bed all day,only coming down for breakfast,dinner and tea,or I could come down and watch in envy as everyone enjoys their presents.But it can't happen,can it?

DISASTER!!!!!!!Less than a week to Christmas,and Christmas 2010 is looking like a disaster for the commissar!Thanks to my evil sister,who is obviously on the side of chaos,I have lost all my presents,as she annoys me,and I fight back,therefore,me in trouble and no presents.The worst that can happen is no presents.Otherwise,10 RUBBER CHICKENS WILL BE ADDRESSED TO ME!*!$%&@!$!and then some...

A suspicious parcel...

It's nearly Christmas time,and I have asked for 2 codex's,the tau codex and the marine codex.A few days ago,a parcel arrived in a ups van.When I got my first 40k set,It came in a ups van.While my mum was out of the study,I grabbed my guard codex and compared in size to the parcel, which by now I had established was a book.It looked the same size as my guard codex.So I think mum has ordered a codex.Trouble is,which one is it...

The first layer

I have started the repaint.Knarloc green was applied after undercoat black,with calthan brown splodges over that.Tomorrow I plan to paint on Lyanden darksun dots,to give it a flecktarn feel.When they are all painted,of a standard that I deem good,I will take pics and post.Lord help me if this is to go well...

Refitting

The painting has begun.I have base coated all squads and command squad,And have started to paint Alpha squad.I have not done the weapon teams,as they are going to be sold.

As you may have noticed,I have given My squad leaders and squadron commanders names.All are Soviet inspired,and some,Such as Retpenko are anagrams-this is an anagram of Dmitri petrenko,the soviet character in cod 5,and all of the squads will look soviet,hopefully.

A small apology

To all of you who have been following,I am sorry I don't have pictures.At the minute the troops are poorly painted,and over the new year,I will strip them,repaint them,photograph them,get them up on the blog,and carry on from there.watch this space.

Ah, Christmas.Food,crap Christmas songs(wombles,I mean you!)and alot of presents.For me,that's warhammer,games and chocolate.I can't wait!

Why the guard...

When I was new to the hobby,I chose the best looking army.With huge tanks,loads of infantry,and those infantry being equipped with nowt more than a rifle,flak armour and the biggest balls this side of a boulder and made of cast iron,I had to choose the guard.But I may have been a bit too hasty.They look good,But the standard guardsman is crap.They always die,and never kill anything.Not backed up by tanks they don't...

Heresy

I am not long into the hobby,collecting the guard,and already I have a liking for the tau.They are an army who have long range prowess,in the form of the pulse rifle,and the rail gun,which can destroy anything.They have good troop choices,and some good tanks.I'm turning into a heretic.AAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tactics...of a sort

My tactics are simple.The infantry squads will seize objectives,while the command squad will assist them in defending the objectives.the sentinels will outflank and kill tanks,vehicles and infantry.Tanks will be tanks.

Paint,paint and more paint

At present,my 40k is being re-base-coated,and will be repainted in a flecktarn camo pattern.Over the basecoat,a solid coat of green,Then small dots of brown and yellow over that,and repeat.The weapons will be boltgun metal,and the eagle will be red.Simple.

Regimental fluff

The 13TH Cadian Mechanized was formed to make up numbers when the 13th black crusade,and were originally a penal unit,made up of the filthiest scum the high command could find.After the crusade,they were reformed into a light infantry unit,and are currently in  the process of re-equipping as an armoured unit.Past honours include tyrok fields, Armageddon, Damocles gulf,and the dimmamak war.

A grizzled veteran,and commander of the 1st company,Zhivago is fiercely patriotic,and thinks that the army is a chance for him to shine.Show cowardice,and things will get sticky...

Captain Lukas Romanov
A Young man,He sees the 13th as a chance for glory,honour and medals.And beating the hell out of a carnifex if he gets the chance.

Captain Dmitri Retpenko
A close friend of major Zhivago,The only reason he hasn't been discharged from the unit is because his son was killed in  action fighting the night lords on fool's paradise.

Captain Kurt Salnit
A new recruit fresh out of training, Kurt is a fond admirer of commissar Yarrick,and his tank,the fortress of arrogance,as well as Ursarkar Creed.

Captain Heinz Nelin
An ex tank commander,he was pulled out of his armoured regiment with a case of combat fatigue,and was sent to the infantry.Amid the carnage and bloodshed of battle,The captain fights for his lost crew.
